Rakesh Tikait: quit government job for farmers, jailed 44 times for them


Rakesh Tikait, the BKU leader, is adamant about the farmer movement.  He is not  ready to end the movement.Some farmers organizations have separated themselves from this movement.  Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, who made the statement 'Bring Lathi-Poles with Lao' before the tractor march on 26 January, is once again in discussion.  Rakesh is the second son of Mahendra Singh Tikait, the elder farmer leader and president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union.  He was once in the Delhi Police, but left the government job to fight the farmers' fight.  Also fought Lok Sabha elections twice but lost there.
